Gordon K. Vella is Managing Principal of Real Estate Valuation & Advisory Services, Inc. (REVAS) He is responsible for the overall strategic direction and operations of the firm. His concentration is in real estate valuation and consulting and he has served in the valuation industry for approximately 25 years. He is licensed as a certified general real estate appraiser in Illinois, Michigan, The District of Columbia, Missouri, Florida, Washington, New York, and Indiana. Mr. Vella’s real estate appraisal and consulting experience includes assignments completed in 31 states for local, national, and international clients involving a variety of purposes including financing, sale/leaseback transactions, purchase and sale advisement, joint venture advisement, portfolio asset advisement for large institutional investors including pension funds, ad valorem taxation, purchase price allocation, marital dissolution, bankruptcy proceedings, condemnation, and property insurance placement purposes.
Mr. Vella has appraised numerous property types, including multi-family complexes, high rise CBD marquis office towers, high rise residential condominium and rental properties, industrial, retail, health care, film and stage theater properties, vacant land, and many other commercial facilities such as automobile dealerships, restaurants, gasoline stations/convenience stores, hotels and large marquis CBD mixed-use properties such as the Hancock Tower in Chicago. His assignments have involved primarily investment grade properties ranging in value from approximately $1 million to over $900 million. Mr. Vella has also completed feasibility and marketability studies, market analysis, highest and best use studies, and market rental rate determinations.
Prior to founding REVAS, Inc. Mr. Vella served as Practice Leader and Managing Director for the real estate group of Stout Risius Ross, Inc. Under Mr. Vella's leadership that group's gross revenues increased over 200% and the per person production levels within the group increased from under $200,000, on average while some upper level professionals have seen their production increase to either near $400,000 or over that level. Under Mr. Vella's leadership, junior level staff were empowered to grow professionally and some began generating their own revenue.
Prior to SRR, Mr. Vella served as a Vice President and senior level production appraiser at CB Richard Ellis for approximately five years and Joseph J. Blake and Associates, Inc., for approximately nine years. Prior to these responsibilities, Mr. Vella was the owner of a multi-service real estate company in Houston, Texas.
